• Comment: Two months ago I knew virtually nothing about synthetic grass except that it was installed on football fields and many other sporting venues. We have a back yard that never drained well in the twenty years we've owned our house from new. Many remedies were tried over the years, but nothing really worked and during rainy seasons our dogs and ourselves had to put up with a very muddy yard. I started to do extensive research into a project to install artificial grass on the entire 2500 square foot back yard. Online research revealed that very small projects like an apartment balcony might lend themselves to a DIY approach. However, larger projects are labor intensive and require a professional company for quality installation and knowledgeable employees to ensure an excellent result. A quality installation is not an inexpensive proposition, but getting it right will lead to a product lasting many years.
  
  I reached out online to several larger well known companies requesting estimates. I already discounted "on the cheap" landscapers and other potential vendors promising low cost installations. This is really more of a construction project than a landscaping one. The bigger companies posted estimates on their web sites, and a few responded but did not seem enthusiastic. I got the impression that our project was not really worth their time, even though it was a big project to us.
  
  WinterGreen Synthetic Grass LLC was one of the companies I was interested in because they are based in Fort Worth which is within 25 miles of our house. I received a call from Maggie, WinterGreen's office manager. We emailed back and forth several times trying to set up a time for an estimator to meet me to look over our project. Eventually, I called her to cut to the quick and found a very enthusiastic, competent, and highly customer service motivated person on the other end of the line.
  
  An appointment was set, and I met Michael to discuss the project. Michael is not a hard sell person, but rather educates prospective customers in an effort to find the solutions to solve the problems at hand. Within two weeks I visited one of their job sites which allowed me to get a first hand look at each stage of the installation, and at the same time I got to know more about Michael and WinterGreen. We soon came to an agreement and our project was to begin on 9 March 2020. I also was invited to visit WinterGreen's office and warehouse. When I did, I met Winter, the president of the company, Maggie, and several of the crew supervisor's. WinterGreen is a well organized and highly functional company!
  
  When time approached for our installation to begin, rain often intervened in WinterGreen's overall work schedule. It was a bit difficult for them, but they adapted very well and did whatever it took to expedite the installation without sacrificing any quality. They even decided to work on Sunday to take advantage of the weather. The lead man for our job, Pablo, is highly knowledgeable in synthetic grass installation. He and his crew of four are extremely meticulous in ensuring a specific job meets the requirements set out at the beginning. The crew up to the top man take pride in providing a lasting and superb product.
  
  We highly recommend WinterGreen for any synthetic grass project you may be considering.. They are a relatively small company, growing rapidly, but staying focused and grounded as success is attained. Our two dogs Elsa and Jake also highly recommend WinterGreen and the "Elite Special Garden" grass we installed.
  
  Finally, but not incidentally, we have had two days of very heavy rains since the installation 3 days ago. YES! It solved the problem of drainage and mud. No more wiping muddy paws, just a light dry of each paw. Several photos show standing water. After every deluge today these puddles quickly dissipated within a short period of time.
